The Golden State Warriors entered Wednesday night ranked second to the Atlanta Hawks in percentage of field goals that were assisted.
On Wednesday night against the Hawks, they were second to none.
The story of the Warriors' 19-point win over the Hawks wasn't the flash of Stephen Curry or Klay Thompson (the latter of whom didn't play). This was a game in which their version of team basketball dominated.
The Warriors had 39 assists on 44 baskets. Their 88.6 percent assist percentage was the highest in a game in the NBA this season. They scored 26 transition points, two more than their league-leading average this season.
Curry finished with 16 points and 12 assists. His 12 assists resulted in 28 Warriors points. He entered the night averaging 18.4 points created off assists, fifth-best in the NBA.
The Warriors have 17 double-digit wins against teams with winning records this season. No other team has more than 12.
Instead of Curry doing the scoring, the Warriors got big contributions from Harrison Barnes andAndre Iguodala. Jump shots were the key to their success. The Warriors outscored the Hawks on jumpers, 74-39.
Barnes scored 25 points on 11-of-13 shooting. That's the best he's ever shot in a game in which he took at least 13 shots. He scored 19 of his game-high 25 points on jumpers.
Iguodala was 9-of-12 from the field for 21 points. It's only the second time he's scored 20 points in a game this season. It's also the third time in his career he took that many shots and made at least 75 percent of them. The other two instances were in 2010.
