Lynch tied a team record with four touchdown runs as part of a huge day for the Seahawks' rushing attack against the New York Giants.
Seattle’s 350 rushing yards were the most by any team in a game since the Chiefs rushed for 352 yards in Week 16 of the 2012 season against the Colts. The 350 rushing yards were the most allowed by the Giants in a game since Week 13 of the 1978 season, when they allowed 366 against the Bills. That game and this one are the only instances since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970 that a team rushed for 350 yards and had five rushing touchdowns.
The Seahawks basically could do no wrong when they ran. They rushed for 149 yards when they ran to the left side of the field, 146 yards when they ran to the right side. Their 131 yards when running outside the right tackle are the most by any team in a game within the past five seasons.
On Sunday, the Seahawks had more rushing yards than the Giants had total yards (324). The Seahawks had as many rushes gain at least 20 yards as they had lose yardage (three).
Lynch gained at least 10 yards on six rushes Sunday, the fifth player this season to have six rushes of at least 10 yards in a game. Arian Foster, DeMarco Murray, Rashad Jennings andLeSean McCoy (also against the Giants) each had six rushes for double-digit yards in a game.
Lynch had 21 rushes for 140 yards, 11 more yards than he had in the previous two weeks combined, with 14 fewer carries.
Lynch gained 75 rushing yards after contact Sunday, the fifth player with at least 75 yards after contact in a game this season.
Lynch wasn’t the only one with a huge game. The Elias Sports Bureau notes that Russell Wilson (14 rushes for 107 yards) joined Michael Vick as the only quarterbacks since the 1970 merger to have three 100-yard rushing games in a single season. Vick did so in both 2004 and 2006.
Wilson had 64 yards off zone-read runs, the most such yards by a quarterback in a game this season.
